IMPACT STORIES
Real People. Real Change. Real Impact.
Behind every statistic is a human story. Behind every donation is a life changed.
The Challenge:
Ten-year-old Tariro was dying. Severe malnutrition. Constant illness. Her single mother couldn't afford food or medicine for five children.
We intervened:
- Nutrition programme
- Monthly food parcels
- Medical care
- Business training for her mother
Six months later:
Tariro thrives. Healthy weight. Back in school. Focused and learning. Her mother runs a vegetable stand. The family has hope.
"Hawubasa helped our entire family stand on our own feet. We have hope again."
The Challenge:
Tendai excelled academically. Top grades. Bright future. But as an orphan, she couldn't afford school fees. Dropping out seemed inevitable.
We intervened:
- Three years of school fees
- Uniforms, books, stationery
- Mentorship programme
The outcome:
Tendai graduated with top grades. Won a scholarship to study nursing. Dreams of serving her community as a healthcare provider.
"Hawubasa believed in me when I couldn't believe in myself. They didn't just give me school fees—they gave me a future."
The Challenge:
Mai Chipo had skills. She could sew. But as a widow with three children and no capital, her talent meant nothing.
We intervened:
- Business training and mentorship
- Sewing machine and materials
- Market connections
Two years later:
Mai Chipo runs a thriving tailoring business. Employs two apprentices. Produces school uniforms. Creates jobs.
"Hawubasa taught me that I wasn't helpless—I was just lacking opportunity. Now I'm providing for my family and creating jobs for others."
The Challenge:
800 people. One contaminated river. 5 kilometres away. Children dying from waterborne diseases. Girls missing school to fetch water.
We intervened:
- Drilled a borehole in the village centre
- Trained a water committee
- Conducted hygiene workshops
The outcome:
Disease down 60%. Children in school. Girls learning. Community thriving. Time returned to families.
"This borehole is more than water—it's dignity, health, and time given back to our families."
